Add more widget options to your WordPress blog
If you’d like a different widget option for displaying your Twitter tweets or Facebook like box on your blog’s sidebar, then consider implementing Jetpack’s Extra Sidebar Widgets feature.
According to Jetpack, this option allows you to “Easily add images, Twitter updates, and your site’s RSS links to your theme’s sidebar.” As you can see below, specifically you can add to your WordPress blog: RSS feeds (either your blog’s post or comment feed), latest tweets on Twitter, a “like box” for your page on Facebook, and a widget that allows you to easily embed images to your sidebar.
How to activate these widgets
To have these options on your WordPress blog or site, go to Jetpack’s menu and activate the “Extra Sidebar Widgets” box. Click “configure” to be taken to your widget menu, where you’ll be able to drag and drop those new widgets over to your sidebar. You’ll see that these extra additions reference Jetpack in their name (if you’re having difficulty finding them); other Jetpack widgets will be found there as well, if you’ve activated other Jetpack features.
Dragging or adding a widget automatically opens it up, so you can input the necessary information and customize them as you desire.
If you implement any of these Jetpack widgets on your WordPress site, shoot me the link so I can check it out!
