Create an icon for your WordPress site.
Once a newer Jetpack feature, the option for site icons in WordPress sites are now automatically available — you just need to do a quick photo upload and you’re done!
WordPress continues to make administration tasks easier; instead of the round-about way of adding a favicon like I had to use a few years ago, it’s a simple photo upload to your site’s backend:
- Once logged in, select “Customize” from the “Appearance” tab.
- Choose “Site Identity”
- Upload your logo or photo that you want representing your site as a browser and app icon. The image must be square, and at least 512px wide and tall.
- When it uploads, you have the option to crop it further, and you will be also shown a preview of what the icon will look like.
- “Save & Publish” and you’re done!
