Updating to WordPress 3.8 also visually updates your Dashboard
This new version of WordPress has a heavy emphasis on clean design and an uncluttered dashboard. Among the several changes to your WordPress blog (which includes a better way to look at themes, work with widgets, and faster loading), is the new bold look to your admin section. (WordPress.com bloggers can also change their admin color scheme.)
Above is the default color scheme when you update to WordPress 3.8; but if you’d like to change your WordPress admin/dashboard so that it’s even more colorful, check out the palette options in your Profile settings, beneath the Users tab:
